Question 2

+5 marksNumerical answer

Assume we are using a logistic regression model to estimate the probability of a protein pair (u,v)(u, v) to truly interact based on two features Xuv1X_{uv}^1 and Xuv2X_{uv}^2. Let β0\beta_0 be the intercept and β1\beta_1 and β2\beta_2 be the weights of the features Xuv1X_{uv}^1 and Xuv2X_{uv}^2 respectively. In the trained model, β^1=1.1\hat{\beta}_1 = 1.1 and β^2=0.4\hat{\beta}_2 = 0.4. For a protein pair with Xuv1=0.6X_{uv}^1 = 0.6 and Xuv2=3X_{uv}^2 = 3, this trained model predicted the probability of interaction to be 0.7427. What will this model predict for the probability of interaction of another protein pair with Xuv1=1X_{uv}^1 = 1 and Xuv2=−1X_{uv}^2 = -1?
